Avoid Uppergate Drive on Friday Evening
The road will be closed so Emory can use a crane to install a new MRI machine.
If you normally use Uppergate Drive to get around, you'll want to take note of this traffic alert from DeKalb County:
Between 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22 and 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, Uppergate Drive will be closed to through traffic between Clifton Road and Ridgewood Drive NE. A private work crew will upload, via crane, an MRI machine through the rooftop hatch of the Winship Cancer Institute building on the Emory Campus.
Road closure signs will be posted advising of construction work and traffic detours.
