Fat Tuesday at Atkins Park, 794 N. Highland Ave.

Why go: A full day of beads, beers, hurricanes, oysters, gumbo, king cake, po'boys and live music from Homefront at 10:00pm. More info

Fat Tuesday at D.B.A. Barbecue, 1190 N. Highland Ave.

Why go: Live music by Mudcat from 8:00-11:00 and $2 Abita pints all night long.  Poboys, gumbo, oysters, and bbq. $100 cash money to the lady that acquires the most beads. More info

Fat Tuesday at Blind Willie's and Limerick Junction, 822 N. Highland Ave.

Why go: Two venues, two bands, one cover ($5). Music starts at 8 p.m. featuring The Hollidays and The Stooge Brothers. Abita Beer, SoCo Hurricanes, and Cajun food specials. More info

Whole Lotta Dixie & Then Some at Family Dog, 1402 N. Highland Ave.

Why go: Live music starts at 9 p.m. Lunch menu includes Po' Boys and a cup of Gumbo. More info
