Grady Debate Team Wins National Competition
Senior team wins competition at Georgetown University
A team of debaters won the National Urban Debate League policy debate earlier this month.
Seniors Holden Choi and Ben Dean beat out top-ranked teams from 20 cities to win the title at Georgetown University on April 15.
The Grady Jesters debate team is coached by Lisa Willoughby.

The teams from Grady High School and North Atlanta High School represented the Atlanta Urban Debate League (AUDL). AUDL is the nation’s oldest urban debate league and is supported and organized by The Barkley Forum at Emory University. The team debated the topic, “Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its exploration and/or development of space beyond the Earth’s mesosphere.”
