Hollywood Comes to Druid Hills

Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet and Jude Law are reportedly in Druid Hills at the Centers for Disease Control to film, “Contagion,” a film about doctors attempting to stop a deadly disease from spreading.

If you think you’ve spotted a celebrity in Druid Hills this week, chances are you’re not seeing things.

Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet and Jude Law are reportedly in Druid Hills at the Centers for Disease Control to film, “Contagion,” a film about doctors attempting to stop a deadly disease from spreading.

Extras gathered outside the main entrance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1600 Clifton Rd. NE, Thursday morning with signs used as props in the movie with sayings such as "Corporations Don't Care."

Roughly 100 extras on the sidewalk seemed to be acting as disgruntled community members that want the doctors at the CDC to take more action against the spread of the deadly disease in the movie.

Fake television trucks blocked off the right lane going south on Clifton Road along the gates of the CDC property Thursday morning, and extras portraying media members stood across the street.

The lane closure on Clifton Road backed up traffic almost to the intersection of Briarcliff Road and Clifton Road Thursday morning, which is nearly one mile from the main entrance to the CDC.

The film, which is directed by Steven Soderbergh, was shooting in Chicago last fall, according to onlocationvacations.com.

Several news outlets and blogs have reported that the movie will continue shooting at the CDC and Emory University through Friday.

Have you spotted more locations of the movie shoot in the neighborhood? Tell us in the comments.
