What the hell did the gunmen look like? What did their vehicles look like, other than one being a black pickup truck? Why is this not being disclosed??????

I believe there are traffic cameras there. Hopefully they recorded a good shot of this awful crime.

4 PM a Ponce & Moreland? There would've had to have been 100 witnesses.

so what was it then, nonya? if you have details please divulge them to the police. i don't think it's disrespectful for people to hope it was something criminal rather than random. it's sad the young man lost his life indeed, but if it was a random killing, then we all have more reason to fear.

I drive past 10 min after the incident (on my way to pick up my daughter at her elementary school which is about 100 yards away.) There were only 2 cruisers at the time - they had not yet cordoned off the entire intersection. I though it was a typical car crash at this busy intersection. But then I noticed about 7 tightly clustered bullet holes on the passenger side car door. I was trying to think through how this could be anything other than a 'hit.' Other reports say the shooters exited their vehicles and approached the victim's car on foot. They must have been holding guns at hip level. I didn't know you could shoot through a car door so easily. Apparently, they did because they only put 2 through the window. Clearly the shooters wanted to make sure that they finished what they started. This is such a brazen crime. I am shocked that a truck and and SUV could simply drive away from this intersection without being caught. Let's hope they are quickly brought to justice.

I was walking my dog around the corner from the incident and heard multiple shots then a scream. My boyfriend and I put the dog in the house and walked down to where it sounded like the incident had happened and no one seemed to know what happened. We were on the scene as police and the fire department were showing up and it seemed like there were no witnesses who stopped! We couldn't believe it! The intersection must have been packed as usual and multiple cars pumping gas at the Exxon Station. Where are the people that were there at that time?? Someone needs to speak up and provide more information.

the black escalade swerved into oncoming traffic northbound on moreland as soon as the white sedan turned right onto ponce. there was honking as the SUV blocked the intersection...the escalade was briefly stopped before 7 shots were fired..(from what other sources say, 2 individuals got out and approached the sedan, after failing to get the car door open, they started shooting)

the 'other suspects' that sped away looked frightened, not guilty. several people sped off...it's kind of a natural response to not stick around when you hear gun shots.

it was very hard to understand what happened as the lights were changing. no one seemed to grasp that someone had been shot.

My husband was there on his bike. He saw two black males running toward Paideia School and did not realize someone had been shot until he got closer to Ponce. He stayed and spoke to the cops. When shots are heard, no one is going to hang around. I think that is a wise thing to do. I wonder why someone wanted to kill that man and how can we keep thugs out of our neighborhood. My kid goes to Paidiea.

Also, people reported from safer areas. There were several who pulled into the Exxon to report what they witnessed.

Three options I see. A targeted hit, he messed with someone's lover, or road rage.

If it was a hit it was absolutely horrendous tactics - broad daylight at the busiest time of the day... Doubt it. These were inexperienced mafia/gangster wannabes who listen to too much rap and think they're hard-asses. Too bad nobody with a weapon of their own took the morons down.

Why hasn't there been more coverage of this incident?.... As usual, the AJC has left much to be desired after their one and only article which hasn't been updated at all.

I want to know, too. It took me 2 hours to get to work after being detoured the wrong direction and getting in more horrendous traffic. If I'd left home 20 minutes earlier I might have been in the middle of it myself. And every day I've been looking for details, more information, about what happened at that intersection and am gettng nothing. Maybe they have a reason for holding back, but I hope the facts come out soon.

APD is keeping a "tight lip" on the investigation. More information will be released when the arrests are made. It was not a "stranger on stranger" crime.

I am beyond frustrated at the lack of information provided. This is my neighborhood. I live only blocks from this intersection and i walk to work. Had this happened only a half hour later i would have been walking though that very intersection on my way home. It's a terrifying thought. PLEASE GIVE US ANSWERS!!

after grabbing a bite to eat, i was walking back to the highland inn in the rain at about 7pm on monday evening, october 1st, when i was mugged/jumped/robbed/beaten to hell by 3 cowards who attacked me from behind (and with a bat), about 2 blocks from this intersection. when i woke up, bloody, wet and dazed, i only had several hours in which to catch my return flight to chicago, and decided not to make a police report or go to the e.r. (until i got home), but i wonder if the same idiots who attacked me are responsible for this horrible crime. i couldn't describe them (as i was attacked from behind in the dark), but i certainly hope that karma catches up with their asses.
