Yeah! Burger founder Shaun Doty is focused on his latest food-inspired project, a fast-casual rotisserie chicken restaurant set to open in Ansley Mall in October.

Named after sizes of chickens, Bantam & Biddy will feature breakfast, lunch and dinner options centered on locally raised rotisserie chicken and fresh vegetables from the local farmers market.

Doty and team plan to take over the shuttered juice bar and Philly Cheese Steak shops in Ansley Mall across from Starbucks, he told the Neighborhood Planning Unit- F Monday night.

Plans include outdoor seating in the courtyard and a full bar inside.

“I’m excited about it,” Doty said.

Doty recently sold his share of Yeah! Burger to his partners in order to focus on Bantam & Biddy.

Lance Gummere from The Shed announced last month he will join Doty at Bantam & Biddy to handle day-to-day operations of the restaurant and oversee the food and beverage program.

Construction on the restaurant could start as early as this week.

Neighborhood Planning Unit- F recommended Monday night approval of the liquor license application.

The application is heard next by the city’s license and review board. The final step for approval or denial rests in the hands of the Mayor.

Bantam & Biddy is slated to open in early October, Doty said.
