Slice & Pint to Open in Emory Village

The co-owner of the 5 Seasons Brewing Co. is hoping to do to pizza what he's done with beer.

Crawford Moran, brewmaster at the 5 Seasons, which has three spots in Metro Atlanta, including the city's westside, is opening a new venture in Emory Village called Slice & Pint.

The concept behind the eatery, which is slated to open in June, is to do to pizza what he's done to beer.

"Our goal is to do a higher quality pizza," Moran told Virginia-Highland Patch of the planned eatery at 1593 North Decatur Road.

To that end, Moran and his business partner in the venture, Russ Yates, plan to locally source meats and sauces as well as the produce.

They are importing a type of yeast from Italy they will use to ferment the dough.

They also will be making fresh mozzarella daily and are looking create specialty pizza pies such as green Thai curry pizza along with more traditional types such as pepperoni.

"Our price points are going to be in line with other pizza place," he said. "It's going to be more artisan pizzas but not more expensive than other places."

The beers will be made on-site and will be dfifferent from the beers Moran makes for 5 Seasons.

The pair picked Emory Village because because of its proximity to the university and its students, as well as the CDC.

"It’s a great neighborhood and a great part of town, there's a vitality to the area, Moran said. "It’s a very vibrant and energetic area."
