Springdale Park Parents Plan Walk to APS Redistricting Meeting
Parents will walk to Grady High on Thursday evening
If you see a large group of parents walking toward Grady High School Thursday night, don’t be alarmed.
Springdale Park Elementary School parents plan to walk in groups to a meeting with Atlanta Public Schools board of education members at Grady High School Thursday night.
The meeting — which is hosted by the Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools — will give parents the opportunity to talk directly with board members about the latest redistricting proposals released in late January.
Parents plan to meet at the corner of N. Highland Avenue and Virginia Avenue around 5:30 p.m. A second meet-up spot is planned for 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue for parents coming from Midtown neighborhoods.
Springdale Park Elementary is one of several elementary schools that feeds into Grady. The Druid Hills school houses children from Virginia-Highland, Poncey-Highland, Midtown and Druid Hills.
The meeting at Grady High School, 929 Charles Allen Dr., is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
