Wondering why one lane of traffic is blocked at St. Charles Avenue and N. Highland Avenue?

"Being Mary Jane," a television pilot for the BET network, is filming in Virginia-Highland throughout the day Monday.

The show stars actress Gabrielle Union from the current box-office hit Think Like A Man. Union also had leading roles in Bad Boys II and Bring It On.

Scenes will be shot at the new Glamour Paws location, 780 N. Highland Ave., and on St. Charles Avenue near N. Highland Avenue.

One lane of traffic will be blocked at St. Charles Avenue and N. Highland Avenue until 8 p.m. Monday night.

Street parking on N. Highland Avenue near Glamour Paws is blocked, but both lanes of traffic are open.

I'm glad there was not a fire yesterday in the area of North Highland/St. Charles since one of the pix shows the movie truck stupidly parked in front of the fire hydrant. Quite obviously, the permit issued by the city does not ask for common sense as a requirement for filming.
