Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes a Success
The event raised more than $36,000 this year.
Organizers of the Tour of Homes in Virginia-Highland say the event was a success, raising $3,000 more than last year.
Warm, dry weather in the 70s contributed to strong turnout for the event, which was held the weekend of Dec. 8-9.
Angelika Taylor, the 2012 Tour of Homes Chair, posted a statement to the Virginia-Highland Civic Association website reporting that ticket sales and sponsor revenue raised $36,000 this year. The funds will help pay for parks, sidewalk repairs, safety, streetlights, landscaping and other community projects. You can read Taylor's full post here.
The event included seven homes and a bed & breakfast. Several local restaurants offered tastings at the homes as part of the tour.
