West Egg Owners to Open Jewish Deli at Emory Point

Three women’s boutiques also among latest round of confirmed retailers for new development

West Egg owners are taking on a new adventure.

The team behind the popular Westside eatery will open The General Muir, a Jewish-style deli, at Emory Point on Clifton Road.

The Jewish deli will serve traditional deli classics, from pastrami and corned beef to chopped liver, smoked fish, and hand-rolled kettle-boiled bagels. The menu will also include innovative takes on traditional deli and Jewish dishes. The restaurant will have a bar, coffee shop and pastry counter. It will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Emory Point is a mixed-use project under construction that will bring retail space and apartments to the vacant lot across from the Centers for Disease Control and just down the street from Emory University.

Atlanta-based Cousins Properties Incorporated — a publically traded company — is partnering with Atlanta-based Gables Residential on the project.

Three women’s boutiques — Fab’rik, Lizard Thicket and American Threads — also signed on this week to open at Emory Point.

Fab’rik, which features high fashion items at a reasonable price, will open its eighth metro Atlanta location.

Lizard Thicket offers the latest trendy, young contemporary styles at affordable prices. Emory Point will mark the fourth metro Atlanta location.

American Threads, currently located at The Avenue Forsyth, features clothes for the free-spirited girl who loves indie and local designers, vintage clothing and unique accessories.

CVS/pharmacy, Fresh To Order, Jazmin Spa, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, La Tagliatella, Marlow’s Tavern, Tin Lizzy’s and Which Wich Superior Sandwiches also plan to open at Emory Point.

It's unclear when the retailers will officially open, but construction is expected to be complete in the fall of 2012.

The apartments at Emory Point are available for pre-leasing. Residents could move in as early as August 2012.
