After 10 Years, Grady High School Prepares for its Last Urban Couture Fashion Show

Urban Couture is coming to an end this Summer, and the design students are excited to show off their work one last time.

The 10th installment of the Urban Couture Show that is put on by the design students at Grady High School will take place on May 11 for the last time. According to a short announcement on Grady's website, everyone is invited to "come out to celebrate the final year of Urban Couture on May 11th at 7:00pm in the Practice Gym." For 10 years, the Urban Couture was initiated by instructor Vincent Martinez of Grady High School. This year will be the first year in which, Martinez will no longer be backstage leading the designers on. "Every year the fashion show has been filled with excitement and attitude with cutting edge designers," students said in a prepared statement which promised that this year's event will include "the revealing of a new…

'Anchorman 2' Shooting Nearby?

The production is apparently using Suburban Plaza on North Decatur Road.

Walmart isn't the only big player with designs on Suburban Plaza. Will Ferrell and his Anchorman: The Legend Continues production do as well, according to Internet chatter Monday afternoon. The comedy film production, which has been seen filming throughout the Atlanta metro area recently, has been using the shopping center in some capacity, according to the Kitsch'n 155 Facebook page and several posters on it. Atlanta Film Festival Filmmaker Discusses 'A Band of Rogues'

The Atlanta Film Festival continues at different venues, including Plaza Theatre, through Sunday night.

If you haven't had a chance to catch a screening during the Atlanta Film Festival, going on now, you still have time. The festival's final screening, the film A Band of Rogues is Sunday night. A Band of Rogues tells the story, in 11 chapters, of four American musicians who are stuck in Argentina after being arrested for the possession of drugs. The film is gaining major recognition and was a 2012 official selection at the Madrid International Film Festival. Band of Rogues writer and director Tim Morgan said ABOR is his first feature film, and when he began writing it, he knew he wanted it to be something that could be shot with a lower budget and in Argentina after he lived there for a while.
