Georgia Artists Win, Perform at CMA Awards

Georgia was well represented at last week’s Country Music Association Awards. Nominees with area roots included the Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert and Single of the Year winner Little Big Town.

Georgia artist performances included renditions of “Always on My Mind” and “Crazy” by Lady Antebellum during the Willie Nelson tribute and “Pontoon” by Little Big Town.

Check It! Pick of the Week

It may be a bit outside of the Midtown area, but Local Notes is very excited for tonight’s concert by The Who. Original members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will bring a number of additional backing artists to play the entirety of its 1972 album Quadrophenia, the second of its rock albums, which tells the fictional story of Jimmy Cooper and his multiple personalities.

The show is tonight at the Arena at Gwinnett Center starting at 7:30 p.m. Get tickets here.
