Two Nights of the Tribe

Sound Tribe Sector 9, most often referred to as STS9, will be performing two nights at the Fox Theatre this weekend. The instrumental electronic jam band has finished up the festival circuit and is now on its North American tour.

STS9 returns to its home state to play at the Fox on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27, both shows starting at 7:30 p.m. The opener Kap10 Harris, a DJ originally from Atlanta. Get tickets here.

After Friday’s show, head over to Terminal West for the official STS9 after party. Performers include Athens, Ga., electronic band Up Until Now featuring David Murphy of STS9 and chillwave band Mansions on the Moon. Get tickets for the after party here.

Phillips’ Album Release Date

Georgia native Phillip Phillips, who won the most recent season of American Idol, is pushing to release his first album, “The World From the Side of the Moon,” by the label’s target date of Nov. 19. During a radio interview, Phillips previously said the album wouldn’t be released until after his tour.

The album includes Phillips’ single “Home,” which gained popularity by its use in television spots during this summer’s Olympics.

Phillips is set to perform during the Star 94 Jingle Jam concert on Dec. 13 at Gwinnett Arena. Other performers include Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran, Grace Potter, Andy Grammer and Alex Clare. Get tickets to the show here.

Dracula on the Organ

The sound of the organ can instantly bring the listener to a haunted mansion, so what better way to musically celebrate Halloween than with an organ concert performed by Count Dracula himself? Dracula, also known as Timothy Albrecht, will play an hour-long recital featuring particularly spooky pieces by Bach, Vierne, Gigout, Messiaen, Mussorgsky and Mulet, coupled with thunder and lighting, fog, video projections and scream effects.

The recital takes place at the Emerson Concert Hall on the Emory University campus at 8 p.m. this Saturday. Albrecht is celebrating his thirtieth year as professor of music at the university. Get more information here.

Ever since the release of “Jagged Little Pill” in 1995, Alanis Morissette has been a symbol for girl power. She’s just released her eighth studio album, “Havoc and Bright Lights,” which is said to be a softer, more mature sound for Morissette.

She’ll be at The Tabernacle this Thursday at 7 p.m. with opener Souleye, who happens to be Morissette’s husband. Get tickets here.
