In the Pink

This month is officialy Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you see me teaching a class on Fridays I'll be wearing Pink and will usually have on the pink "bub" we received at the Susan G Komen 3 Day Walk a few years ago. I so wanted to do the 3Day again this year, but just couldn't make the timing work, so I'll support it in other ways. (Check out last October's post for some great photos of our greatest weekend ever walking 60 miles!)

There are so many fun things out there that support this cause. My boys all have pink shoestrings in their shoes, some wear hot pink sweat bands in football, pink socks and my youngest wore a pink ribbon lapel pin on his coat for church on Sunday. This month Self Magazine has a special section entitled the Self Women's Cancer Handbook and a spread highlighting products that give back to Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF) or Komen when purchased. Some are pretty cool, too!  You'll see everything from IPhone covers, nail polish, Tic Tacs, to Tory Burch items, athletic apparel and lingerie.

I found a few other cool things in the "blogshpere" that I thought would be fun to share.

Caribou Coffee has a special coffee blend this month called “Amy’s Blend” after their original roastmaster. Check out the story on their website for more information.
Dicks Sporting Goods has a facebook campaign going on right now and a huge Pink Shop online which includes some cool shirts. I recently heard that Stella and Dot is also having a shop dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Products as well. I haven't personally checked this one out but bet the jewelry is pretty as they always have such pretty things. Check it out on their website or a rep in your area.  If you know of this personally, let me know! The Body Rock Collection also has pink sports bra and have come up with the first ever fashionable and functional Mastectomy bra. Thank goodness someone finally did!

I know there are other cool campaigns out there. Let me know of things you see or know about! I'd love to know and share!

Marla-Deen is an amazing instructor. She is very knowledgable and I feel lucky to have instruction with her.
