Located on 65 acres of the largest old-growth piedmont forest in the country, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History was chartered in 1964. Featuring an expansive campus with a variety of permanent and temporary exhibits, the museum's mission is to encourage a greater appreciation of the planet and its creatures. Its "Giants of the Mesozoic" exhibit, on display in the atrium of the museum, features the Argentinosaurus and the Gigantosaurus, two of the largest dinosaurs ever classified.  Other exhibits include "A Walk Through Time in Georgia," which tells the story of Georgia's natural history. Fernbank also features an Imax theatre and a café.  See the website for event schedules and ticket information.
