Special Musical Guests Babbie Mason and Marvin Matthews
This year during Lent, Virginia-Highland Church will conduct An Experiment with Practicing Christianity. We will learn about, and experiment with, ancient Christian practices including pilgrimage, prayer, service, and fasting, and explore those experiences in Sunday morning worship and in small group settings.
The first Sunday of Lent is February 17, and we will welcome special musical guests Babbie Mason and Marvin Matthews to worship. Babbie (www.babbie.com) is a Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated Gospel singer and songwriter and is known the world over for her encouraging words and beautiful music. Marvin (www.marvinmatthews.com) is, according to one insider, "the music industry’s best-kept secret." A tireless concert artist, he has been featured in several "Gaither Homecoming" videos and has worked with Debbie Boone, Andrae Crouch, CeCe Winans, and many others.
