CDC, Emory Employees Enroll in Leadership DeKalb

Ten-month class talks about issues facing DeKalb County and the metro area

Employees from and have enrolled in the Leadership DeKalb Class of 2012.

Class members with Emory and CDC connections include Susan Carini, Executive Director of Emory Creative Group, Lisa Newbern, Chief of Public Affairs at Emory University Yerkes National Primate Research, Susan Laird, Team Lead, Business & Community Relations/Cooperative Agreements at the Centers for Disease Control and Claudette Grant-Joseph, Workforce & Career Development Officer at the Centers for Disease Control.

Fifty-two leaders from business, education, healthcare, social service agencies and government will meet over 10 months to learn about issues facing DeKalb County and the metro area. They’ll also take part in community volunteer projects.

Leadership DeKalb is celebrating its 25th year of leadership training, community connectivity and development. For a full list of enrollees, go to the Leadership DeKalb website.

Leadership DeKalb’s 25th Anniversary Annual Meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Agnes Scott College, according to the group's website.
