Five Things To Do This Weekend

Summerfest, Jazz on the Lawn and more

When/Where: Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. 

Why Go: Celebrating 28 years of fun with a juried Artists' Market, a 5K race and tot trot, lots of food and music.  Kidsfest will have games, crafts and activities for children of all ages from 10:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday and 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday.

Why Go: As a part of Summerfest 2011, there will be an acoustic street party at the Virginia-Highland Island Friday and Saturday night.

Why Go: The heavy storms of last week severly damaged the home of Ron Haynes, General Manager of Highland Tap.  He and his family are not able to live in their home and to raise money to fix this problem, Highland Tap is hosting a benefit on two nights.  Twenty percent of proceeds raised on both nights will go to the Haynes family.
