Why Go: For one night only, the restaurant will travel back in time to 1983. With DJ Jeremy Healy spinning 80s tunes all night long and a 1983-themed costume contest with over $500 in cash and prizes, the “1983 Summer of Love” party will be Atlanta’s ultimate 80s bash.

Why Go: Join in for the 3rd Annual Free to Breathe Atlanta Lung Cancer 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Walk.  This event provides an opportunity for lung cancer advocates, survivors and the community to come together to raise awareness and support in the movement to defeat lung cancer.

Why Go: The Living Walls Conference will showcase art while also aiming to highlight a number of problems facing the city. The 2012 conference, a five-day event featuring 26 female street artists, will include film screenings, lectures, block parties, gallery exhibits and bike tours.

When/Where: Saturday and Sunday at Piedmont Park, 1071 Piedmont Ave.

Why Go: Not a typical fine arts show, this one is for local crafters and the people in our community including our neighbors and friends to “show off” at their favorite park.

When/Where: Sunday, 3 p.m. at Midtown Bowl, 1936 Piedmont Cir.

Why Go: Bowl with your neighbors and kick off the school year.
