Why Go: Callanwolde opens its 2012 Summer Outdoor Jazz Series with the Latin band Serenata.  Luis Cordero leads a 7-piece band that plays an energized evening of Latin jazz, samba, salsa and other creative styles with sax, flute, congas, bongos and timbales.

When/Where: Coan Park and Recreation Center, 1530 Woodbine Ave.

Why Go: Atlanta City Council members Natalyn Archibong and Aaron Watson invite the community on a bike ride through some of Atlanta's east side neighborhoods.
