Free Admission to MLK Historic Site Starts Saturday

One week of free admission runs Saturday, April 21 through April 29

To celebrate National Park Week, the National Park Service is offering free admission to national parks across the country starting April 21.

Atlanta residents can visit one of the following sites for free from April 21 through April 29.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, 449 Auburn Avenue NE; Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Chattahoochee River, 1978 Island Ford Parkway  Sandy Springs, GA; The Island Ford Visitor Contact Station at Island Ford is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The park lands and waters are open for day-use only from dawn to dusk year round.
  • Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, 900 Kennesaw Mountain Dr., Kennesaw; Visitor Center building 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Battlefield grounds: 7:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Cheatham Hill Battlefield grounds: 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
