Hey Music Midtown fans, now that you’ve spent two glorious music-filled days at Piedmont Park, here's your chance to really give back to Atlanta’s most cherished greenspace.
A Passion for Piedmont returns to Piedmont Park on Thursday, Sept. 27 with an international flair. For the first time, this year’s fundraiser will be held at Greystone, overlooking Atlanta’s favorite pool and beautiful Lake Clara Meer.
“We are thrilled to host Passion at Greystone this year,” said PPC President and CEO, Yvette Bowden. “The renovation of Greystone is a part of our Breaking New Ground expansion project, so it is a great example of how Piedmont Park Conservancy puts member dollars to work,” she added.
PPC is a member and donor funded nonprofit working in partnership with the City of Atlanta to maintain and enhance historic Piedmont Park. Despite the fact that Piedmont Park hosts an estimated 85 percent of all permitted events in the City of Atlanta, including Music Midtown, there is no direct funding from those events supporting the PPC. It is funds from events such as A Passion for Piedmont that more directly support the care and continued maintenance of Piedmont Park.
On Thursday, guests will enjoy delicious food stations representing tastes from around the globe, highlighting the multi-cultural composition of Piedmont Park visitors. More than 600 guests will also enjoy open bars, live entertainment by Kingsized and exciting live and silent auctions.
Some of the auction items include amazing travel destinations, designer jewelry, original art and more.
Proceeds from the 8th annual event will fund the continued restoration and enhancement of Piedmont Park. The event begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are $75 per person at www.piedmontpark.org. Corporate and patron sponsorships are also available.
Event chairs for the 8th annual event are Tema Mueller and Brian Boigner, along with Brianna and Erik Selness. A Passion for Piedmont is presented by AT&T.
Founded in 1989, PPC has raised and invested more than $60 million in private funds for Park improvements and today manages more than 90 percent of the overall maintenance and security of Piedmont Park.
Newly opened Park amenities include Legacy Fountain and the Promenade, the wetlands, a re-naturalized Clear Creek, 3 acres of hardwood forest, basketball courts, bocce courts, the new aquatic center, the Greystone event facility, an expanded dog park and new lawns.
