In order to maintain customer safety and improve the riding experience for customers, MARTA has scheduled significant track maintenance May 10–11, which will result in longer than normal weekend wait times. Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
Doraville trains will operate every 24 minutes. An additional train between the Airport and Arts Center stations will operate every 12 minutes. Riders using the Red Line will take a Gold Line Doraville train and transfer at Lindbergh Center station, as is standard practice during non-peak service. (See attached illustration.)
Please listen for announcements and pay attention to signage at the boarding platforms from MARTA police and station agents. Real-time train arrivals will be available on the free MARTA “On The Go” mobile application available on Apple and Android devices. Information will also be posted at www.itsmarta.com.
Key points to remember during this period:
· Doraville trains will operate every 24 minutes
· Service between Airport and Arts Center stations will operate every 12 minutes
· If your final destination is between the Airport and Arts Center, catch either train for quicker service
· Going north of Arts Center, catch a Doraville train; however, if going to North Springs, catch a Doraville train and transfer at Lindbergh Center as Red Line trains will operate to and from Lindbergh only
East-West rail service will operate every 20 minutes on a normal weekend schedule
The steel rails on which the trains run are being changed due to standard lifecycle wear of the track. Work to replace one side of the rails will impact the track between Arts Center and Lindbergh stations. MARTA will also operate the same schedule on select weekends later this summer to replace the rails on the opposite side. During this maintenance work, all trains will operate on a single track.MARTA regrets any inconvenience to its customers as this critical maintenance work proceeds and appreciate your patience and patronage.
