Several worthwhile and important Virginia Highland and Druid Hills organizations will be the beneficiary of Georgia Gives Day, Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.
The Georgia Center for Nonprofits is organizing this first annual statewide day of event. Its purpose is to bring the state together as one community, to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Georgia nonprofits within a 24-hour, flash mob of giving.
One hundred percent of proceeds will go directly to participating nonprofits by donating through www.GAgivesday.org.
Some of the organizations with local connections to which you donate include:
- Fernbank Museum of Natural History
- Southern Horticultural Society
- The American Red Cross
- Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children.
The initiative, which was officially declared Georgia Gives Day by Gov. Nathan Deal, provides citizens across the state with an easy platform to recognize nonprofits across a variety of sectors.
