Virginia-Highland Resident Honored as Eagle Scout

Jason Lathbury earned Eagle Scout ranking

Jason Lathbury of Virginia-Highland earned the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts in April 2012.

He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 455 out of Haygood United Methodist Church.

While in the Scouts Jason earned the Arrow of Light, 35 merit badges, achieved the Triple Crown for completing all three High Adventures (Northern Tier, Sea Base, and Philmont), inducted into the Order of the Arrow, was senior patrol leader in the troop for two years, and earned the National Outdoor Badge for camping 100 nights.

His Eagle project included rebuilding benches and installing various pieces of art work at .

Jason joined the Scouting program as a Tiger Cub in Cub Scout Pack 17 when he was six and crossed over to the Boy Scouts in May 2005.

Jason is a graduating senior at Grady High School. He has been a member of the JROTC and the Robotics Club.

He plans to major in AeroSpace engineering and join the Air Force through the ROTC program.
