Volunteers Needed For Virginia Highland Traffic Island Cleanup
The traffic island cleanup will be held this Sunday. It was scheduled for last weekend but the rain washed it out.
Traffic Island cleanup postponed to this Sunday in Virginia Highland. The Virginia Highland Civic Association says, "Due to excessive water saturation in the soil and the possibility of additional rainfall this afternoon, the triangle island cleanup event originally scheduled for today [May 5] has been postponed until next Sunday May 12 at 1 pm. We know that’s Mother’s Day but we can’t postpone the cleanup event any longer and we’re hopeful that at least some folks will be able to spare a couple of hours, even on this special day. Wellspring Treasures. This second-hand store at 84 N. Highland Ave.needs people to help out. Wellspring says it's "a 501(c)(3) organization, formed to help survivors of childhood sexual abuse overcome their broken pasts and move towards hopeful futures."
