A 12-actor cast that includes a mix of theater vets and recent college graduates will perform its’ first show, By The Bog Of Cats, at the 14th Street Playhouse on Thursday, April 14 at 8 p.m. The show, which is loosely based on Euripides' Medea, will run through Sunday, April 17.

Olewitz said it’s certainly “a tough show,” but she is confident it will “be great.”

The New York native fell in love with theater in high school, where she worked as an assistant director, sound designer, composer for shows such as Berenice, The Skriker, and The Good Woman of Szechuan. Since, she has served as assistant stage manager for the Emory theater group on Closer, and worked as production manager on The Laramie Project, Almost, Maine and The Odd Couple.

She said although money to promote and support the company has been tough to come by, nothing is going to stop her from succeeding.

“I never wanted to do this for money. I started this because it was a dream I had,” she said.

Between running Coyote Place and working with the Emory student theater group, Starving Artist Productions, she said she always finds time to focus on her studies as a women’s studies major and arabic minor at Emory.

“I’d much rather be busy than bored,” she said. “I’m a big fan of doing it all… why not?”

Tickets for By The Bog Of Cats range from $15 to $25 and can be purchased online or at the Woodruff Arts Center Box Office.
