City Storage Sells for $6.1 Million

The Ponce de Leon Avenue property will be renamed Morningstar Mini-Storage.

City Storage in Virginia-Highland sold last week to a Charlotte, N.C.-based self-storage company for $6.1 million.

The five-story facility on Ponce de Leon Avenue near the Ponce Market redevelopment will be renamed Morningstar Mini-Storage after it sold to Morningstar Properties, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The 47,500-square-foot structure, built in 2009, has 351 indoor storage units that are 92 percent occupied, the company said. Morningstar Properties President Dave Benson said the location was chosen for the dense population base and relatively high average household incomes.
