Diesel Introduces New Lunch and Dinner Menus

New specials added, old favorites remain

, a popular burger joint known for hockey on the televisions and plenty of beer and drink selections, is serving up new burger creations and southern-style plates for hungry customers.

The new lunch and dinner menus will feature six new menu options and rotating southern-style favorites beginning Wednesday, Dec. 7.

"We felt like we were overwhelming our diners with too many choices, so we asked our regulars what their favorite burger combinations were and the new burger menu was born," owner Justin Haynie said.

New burgers on the menu include a classic Happy Meal Burger — bacon, beef, cheese and pickles with Coca-Cola ketchup; the economy boosting Bailout Burger  — feta, cucumber, pepperoncini, roasted tomato and hummus; the Hot Mess Burger — chili, cheddar cheese, jalapenos and a poached egg; and the Green Tomato Burger that is topped with fried a green tomato, horsey mustard, roasted tomato goat cheese and a portobello mushroom.

Southern-style favorites include your choice of meat paired with two or three homemade sides including jicama coleslaw, baked beans, Cajun collards, seasonal vegetables, rosemary sweet potatoes, jalapeno mac & cheese and fried picked okra.

Have no fear Diesel lovers. Old pub favorites such as the popular beer cheese soup, French dip, BBQ pork sandwich and Cajun catfish po’boy are on the menu to stay.

New additions to pub fare items include fish and chips, meatball sub, spicy chili cheese dog, traditional patty melt and Mediterranean Greek salad.

Diesel Filling Station is located at 870 N Highland Ave. The restaurant and bar is open from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, 12 p.m. to 3 a.m. Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Sunday. The kitchen is open until midnight or later.
