Atlanta-based Cousins Properties Incorporated — a publically traded company — is partnering with Atlanta-based Gables Residential on the project.
Developers split the project into three phases to avoid scaling too quickly.
The first phase will cost more than $100 million to complete and will include 443 luxury apartments and 80,000 square-feet of retail space.
Construction on phase one began in July and is expected to be complete in the fall of 2012. The timeline for the second and third phases will depend on demand.
The Emory Point project will create about 600 jobs in the community, Cousins President Larry Gellerstedt told 4-Traders.
