To kick off the opening of the new location, Schultz and business partner Dominque Lacey are hosting a grand opening party and open house Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m., along with a reception at Manuel’s.

Schultz opened Re-inspiration Store in 2009 with the idea to re-purpose perfectly good items instead of tossing them in the trash.

Items in the store range from $4 to $400 to attract a broad audience of shoppers, Schultz said.

The new location now offers more classes and workshops where people can bring in old and recycled items and turn them into pieces of art.

“It offers a lot more of a home feeling,” Schultz told Patch.

The front porch features garden art and the studio space upstairs will allow them to offer more consistent classes and bring on an instructor from Savannah College of Art and Design.

Schultz said she loves being in Poncey-Highland and “the neighborhood has been great.”

If you go: Re-inspiration is located at 591 N. Highland Ave. The open house will run from 6 to 9 p.m.
