Chai Pani, an Indian street food restaurant, opened its doors Friday in the old Watershed space at 406 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. in downtown Decatur.

The restaurant website explains the name: "Chai Pani literally means 'tea and water.' It's slang in India for going out for a cup of tea, a tasty bite, a snack, or 'a little something.' "

Argosy Opens in East Atlanta

Even hard-core partiers and hipsters grow up and out of the club scene.

But grown-up hipsters still want to have a good time and go out, even if their heads are a little grayer and they're pushing a stroller or two.

The owners of the Argosy, the restaurant and bar slated to open today at 470 Flat Shoals Ave. say it aims to be that place for them.

Argosy [pronounced ARE-GUH-SEE] is the brainchild of Armando Celentano, Donald Durant and Ben Rhoades.

The trio are longtime friends and for years have worked for Rhoades at his nightclub venue, MJQ, the hipster haven in Virginia-Highland. Read more at East Atlanta Patch.

New Seasonal Comfort Food Eatery Opens in Decatur

A new restaurant called Native: A Local Joint will have a soft opening this weekend and a grand opening Monday at 340 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. in Decatur.

Owner John Mathews described the menu as "seasonal comfort food"  for the whole family. Daily specials will be listed on a chalkboard and based on food available at local farmers markets.

Since the chef and front-of-the-house manager have New Orleans connections, the menu will have a Southern flavor. Read more at Decatur-Avondale Estates Patch.

Owner of Campagnolo to Open New Midtown Eatery

The owner of the highly popular Campagnolo plans to open a new restaurant in Midtown at 132 W. 10th St. near Peachtree Street — in the space that had been Mint3 Thai & Sushi.

Restaurateur Maureen Kalmanson said the concept for her new spot, Henry's Midtown, is upscale with a menu centered around chef-driven sandwich creations and other items.

The plan also is to serve mostly craft beers. Read more at Midtown Patch.
