Pick up your Thanksgiving meal from a local restaurant
If you're looking for an alternative to cooking a Thanksgiving feast for the entire family, several restaurants in Virginia-Highland are offering catering and take out specials that will surely satisfy the family.
Smoked Turkeys and Homemade Dishes from
Twelve to 14-pound turkeys are available to purchase for $60; add dressing and gravy for an extra $15. Homemade sides range between $8 and $15 and include green bean casserole, sweet potato soufflé, collards, mashed potatoes and cranberry relish. Turkeys and sides come with reheating instructions and will be ready for pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 23, between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The Murphy's Thanksgiving Day Feast includes brined and roasted boneless turkey breast, molasses mashed sweet potatoes, herbed cornbread stuffing with sausage and apples, turkey gravy, mixed greens with walnuts, pear (apple), blue & cheddar cheese, champagne vinaigrette, butternut squash soup with apple and ginger, cranberry orange relish and a choice of pie (10 in. or 6 slices) — sweet potato pecan pie, apple pie or tollhouse pie. Add an additional pie for $15. The feast serves four and costs $125. Pick-up will be on Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 11am to 6pm.
