Adopt A Spot Launched in Virginia Highlands

City councilman, Young Dems and Atlanta Public Works to celebrate program

District 2 Atlanta City Councilmember Kwanza Hall will join the Young Democrats of Atlanta, Manuel’s Tavern and representatives from the Atlanta Department of Public Works to host the first official community clean up as part of the City’s Adopt a Spot Program at 9:30 am on Saturday, Aug. 13, at the intersection of North Highland Avenue NE and North Avenue NE.

“I'm delighted the department and the Young Democrats of Atlanta are launching the City’s Adopt a Spot program in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood,” said Hall. “Poncey-Highland is the kind of place where parents envision a playground for their children and, within a year, they are cutting the ribbon on it in Freedom Park.

"Adopt a Spot taps into the same kind of positive spirit, with citizens taking the lead to improve their community and city government supporting their efforts.”
