Hawks Horford to Hold Basketball Camp at Emory

Proceeds to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta

Atlanta Hawks two-time NBA all-star center Al Horford announced plans this week to hold a basketball camp at later this month.

The two-day camp — Horford Hoopstars basketball camp — will take be held June 25 and 26 at the .

Horford will be on hand to help coach the kids, and proceeds from the camp will benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta.

“Nothing helps a young basketball player more than getting the right instruction from a professional,” Horford said in a news release. “Since Atlanta is my home now, I wanted to make sure that the kids in my community have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game while improving their skills. I’m really excited about working with each camper to help them reach their personal goals.” 

Former Chicago Bulls guard B.J. Armstrong will also be on hand to work with the kids.

The two-day camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Boys and girls ages 10 to 18 are eligible to sign up. All campers will get an autographed photo with Horford, an official Horford Hoopstars t-shirt and shorts, and will have a chance to win prizes including Wilson signed basketballs, signed Nike shoes, and much more. 

The cost is $150 per camper, which includes a daily lunch and snack. Space is limited and campers can sign up at www.horford15.com.
