The Virginia-Highland and Druid Hills neighborhoods are filled with beautiful, historic homes. And if there's one thing that owners of old homes know, it's the need for tender loving care to keep them in good condition.
The popular Decatur Old House Fair is a prime opportunity to attend seminars, check out exhibits and take part in hands-on workshops to learn how to take care of older homes.
Topics will include how to restore original windows, improve your home’s energy efficiency, research the history of your home and qualify for tax incentives for rehabilitation.
The fair will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Courtyard Marriott at 130 Clairemont Ave.
This is the fifth year of the event. This year's theme is “Preserving the Old While Bringing in the New.”
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Decatur Old House Fair website. For information, contact Regina Brewer with the City of Decatur at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 404-371-8386.
