Georgia Organics, a non-profit group, advocates for more sustainable food and the importance of supporting local farmers.

The Party at Ponce was set to mark the rebirth of the massive, 16-acre structure, which served as Sears, Roebuck & Co.'s Southeast distribution center.

In July, Atlanta-based Jamestown Properties and would spend $180 million redeveloping the structure as a retail, business and residential urban planning showpiece.

The property, which has more than two million square-feet of space, is being renamed Ponce City Market.

“The community turned out to support a great event that signals the end of one era and the beginning of a transformation of an iconic building,” Michael Phillips, Jamestown's managing director, said in a statement.

"From the chefs and food trucks who participated to the musical talent of Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins and Francine Reed, as well as the generous sponsors, this was an event that brought Atlanta together. With the re-development of Ponce City Market, Atlanta will have a retail, residential, dining and office destination it can be proud of.”
