Streets Alive! Returning to VaHi Oct. 6

Highland Avenue (and maybe Virginia Avenue) will be closed to motor traffic that day.

In October 2012, thousands of people cycled, walked or skated on Highland and Virginia avenues as well as the Beltline during the fall version of Streets Alive!

That's probably going to happen again Sunday, Oct. 6.

The folks at the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition have advised they are tentatively planning to hold another Streets Alive event in the Virginia-Highland area on Sunday October 6. This is in addition to a second event planned this year for Peachtree St. on Sunday September 8 (there was an earlier Streets Alive event on Peachtree in May).

The ABC says that, as with previous events, N. Highland Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic on the afternoon of the event. No word yet on whether Virginia Avenue will be closed as well (as was the case with last October’s event).
