The Week Ahead in Virginia Highland-Druid Hills

An exhibit of archival SCLC documents opens at Emory and the annual "Conversations at the Carter Center" runs all week.

No school Monday. The Atlanta Public Schools and DeKalb County school system are observing Presidents Day. Classes resume Tuesday.

Exhibit of SCLC materials opens at Emory. This exhibition runs from Thusday through Dec. 1 at the Robert W. Woodruff Library and highlights the Southern Christian Leadership Conference's efforts to achieve positive social change after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Opening events are Friday at the library with a lecture at noon and a celebration at 6 p.m. Free and open to the public.

Conversations at the Carter Center. This annual speaker series features panel discussions of the issues that shape our world. Discussions take place all week. Free at the Carter Center.

What's New in Poetry? This reading series starts at 8 p.m. Thursday at Barnes and Noble at 1380 Oxford Road NE, Atlanta. Free.
