Weekender: Body Art Ball At Paris on Ponce

Here are five things to do this weekend in and around Virginia Highland and Druid Hills.


Body Art Ball. Atlanta's best bodypaint artists come together with the city's most original burlesque, circus and variety performers at 7 p.m. Saturday at
Le Maison Rouge at Paris on Ponce 716 Ponce de Leon Ave.

Boz Scaggs. He's touring behind his new album, Memphis, and performs at 7 p.m. Friday at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Sold out.

Live music at bars. At the Family Dog, CC Booker with Will Scruggs on Saturday and Jez Graham Trio with Joe Gransden on Sunday. At Blind Willie's, Bob Margolin on Friday and Luther "Houserocker" Johnson on Saturday. At Limerick Junction, Chris Ricker on Friday and Saturday and Bill Sheffield on Sunday.

Three Taverns launch. On Friday, you can buy your first beers from the Decatur brewery. 5 p.m. at the Brick Store Pub.

History of soul food. Jessica Harris talks about her book, High On The Hog: A Culinary Journey From Africa To America, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Atlanta Cyclorama at 800 Cherokee Avenue SE.  $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children 4-12 years old.
