Masquerade Music Park to Host Celebration of Beer, Bacon, Bands, and So Much More on Saturday, March 29, 2014

What you thought was lost, has now been found! Defying bulldozers, hardhats and cement trucks, the wildly popular BaconFest will rise from the dirt mountain of its former home and descend upon the Masquerade Music Park on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sponsored by MailChimp, BaconFest will again benefiting Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, who recently found itself without a permanent home of its own and is currently producing shows at neighboring 7 Stages Theatre in Little Five Points, until they find their forever home. Utilizing the extra space that Masquerade affords the event, BaconFesters can expect a triple helping of everything during the 14th annual event.  That means more bacon, more beer, more music, more booths, more entertainment, an expansive and extravagant silent auction and, as always... more schenanigans. Selling out every year, all proceeds benefit Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, a nonprofit theatre group that engages, cultivates and inspires artists and audiences alike by producing innovative, scripted and improvised works that are recognized locally, nationally and internationally for being undeniably awesome. Tickets start at $25 and are on sale now at www.dadsgarage.com for ages 21 and up.

Founded in 2000, the kitschy festival has become a fixture in the Atlanta community by combining troughs upon troughs of cold beer and sizzlin' bacon with live performances by favorite local bands; hilarious carnival games manned by the best improvisers in the city; and unforgettable entertainment like a drunken spelling bee, crowning of bacon king and queen, and more. Also returning to BaconFest this year is the “Go Whole Hog!” VIP ticket option that gives festival goers exclusive access to a whole pig, this year roasted by the critically acclaimed BBQ masters at Bone Lick BBQ and delicious specialty brews. Additionally, local businesses like Mary Todd Hairdressing Company, Atlanta Rollergirls, Whynatte, The Vortex Bar & Grill, Pallookaville Fine Foods and Diesel Filling Station have jumped on board to provide tastings and special offerings for attendees. More details about this year’s bands, games and partners to be announced in the coming weeks.

Dad's Garage is offering three early bird ticket options for the 14th annual BaconFest:

About Dad’s Garage Theatre Company: Founded in 1995, Dad's Garage Theatre Company has grown from a small volunteer led organization to a thriving mid-size theatre led by professional artistic and administrative staff that includes over 300 volunteers and performers. In 2013, Dad’s Garage which had entertained more than 30,000 people at their two-theatre facility in Inman Park, was forced to look for a new home as a result of development in the area. Temporarily staying at neighboring 7 Stages Theatre in Little Five Points, the Theatre continues to produce its own productions in addition to public events across Atlanta and the state, and at improv festivals across the continent. In addition to outrageous original productions, Dad’s Garage is currently searching for its new home in and around the Inman Park and Little Five Points area of Atlanta, with the hopes of announcing the new location in 2014.  For more information, visit Dad's Garage Theatre Company online at dadsgarage.com.
