Hands-on Biodynamics

**Remember- to reserve your spot follow the link below!

Kick up your knowledge of sustainable growing by exploring biodynamics – an agricultural approach exploring the interconnections between the forces that make up plant and animal growth. Discover the atmospheric factors critical to plant growth, the growth gestures of plants, the role of lunar cycles and how biodynamics channels this knowledge into a holistic, closed system free from dependence on external inputs.

Part lecture and part hands-on application, join us at the Wylde Center’s Sugar Creek Garden to experience biodynamic preparations, learn about planting by the Stella Natura biodynamic calendar and explore the intimate connections between soil and sky, animal and plant.

About the Instructor:

Darby is one half of a young husband and wife homesteading team growing wholesome, biodynamic food at Sun Dog Farm. She has a degree in sustainable agriculture from Sterling College and has also been asked to lead a biodynamics intensive at the John C. Campbell Folk School. She has been farming with her husband Elliot for 6 years and are learning more every day. Their property was originally farmed biodynamically by their mentor and inspiration Hugh Lovel, who farmed the land for over 30 years. They are honored to carry on the growing traditions of the land and hope to bring just as much life to the farm as they harvest from it.
