WHO/WHAT/WHY:



UST Global, an Aliso Viejo-based information technology
solutions and services company for Global 1000 enterprises, created Step IT
Up America
in response to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
(STEM) efforts across the country to engage more women in
technology.  With the

The Home Depot, Step IT UP America is back for an unprecedented Hiring
Event at the Cleveland L. Dennard Conference Center at Atlanta Technical
College
on April 17, in a second-wave effort to recruit, train and
employ more of Atlanta’s African-American women in technology careers. 
Participants can come with limited or no experience and leave with a promising
start to a career in a secure field.

WHAT YOU NEED:



In partnership with Employ Georgia and Atlanta Technical
College
, Step IT Up America’s Atlanta Hiring Event is unique
in that no experience is necessary for candidates and minimal qualifications
are required.  Participants should allow for three hours and come
prepared to interview on-site with resumes and cover letters, take part in
assessment testing and demonstrate a passion to work in technology

Additional qualifications include:




  • African-American Female

  • GED or high
    school diploma

    with graduating GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Currently
    enrolled in

    community college or 6 to 10 college units completed

  • Basic computer
    skills

  • Availability for
    12-week

    paid training

  • Note: AA degree
    strongly preferred



 



REGISTRATION:



Attendees should pre-register now at www.joinstepitupamerica.com for one of three
sessions at 9 a.m., Noon or 2 p.m.  Space is limited and pre-registered
attendees are guaranteed entry.
