APD Crime Report: Rapes Up 91% Year-to-Date From 2013

The Atlanta Police Department has released its crime report for Week 16 that spanned April. 13-19.

Citywide, there were three rapes reported for Week 16, bringing the 2014 year-to-date total to 42.

That figure marks a 91 percent increase from the same point last year (22 rapes).

There were 20 murders in the city through the first 16 weeks, which is a 9 percent decrease from the same point in 2013.

Other crimes that are down from last year according to police statistics include robbery (8 percent), aggravated assault (8 percent), burglary (8 percent), auto larceny (6 percent), larceny/other (11 percent) and auto theft (22 percent).

Hold on just a minute here. How can this be? Mayor Kasim Reed is always on top of things and he just gave the Falcons a bunch of dough. He also ran the Braves out of town. SO why would anyone is the ATL be mad or wanting to commit a crime. I dont believe any of this. Mayor Reeds brother can vouch for his efforts to clean up the town.
