The Atlanta Police Department (APD) is seeking
participants for the Spring 2014 Citizens Police Academy.
As APD strives for transparency in its operations, the Citizens Police Academy provides a hands-on opportunity to educate the citizens of Atlanta on the operations of the Department while obtaining valuable feedback from citizens to enhance police and community relations.
The course will begin April 30, 2014 and
will take place every Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
through June 11, 2014.
Classes are held at the Herbert T. Jenkins Atlanta Police Academy, 180 Southside Industrial Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia 30354. The Citizens Police Academy will include over 30 hours of instruction with classroom courses in crime scenes, a department overview and a zone ride-a-long.
Interested citizens can request an

Once completed they can email them back or mail them to Lt. Antonio Clay Atlanta Police Department Community Liaison Unit 226 Peachtree St NW Atlanta, Ga. 30303.The deadline for application is Friday, April 18, 2014. Participants must be a resident of the metropolitan Atlanta area, be at least 21 years old, and have no felony or misdemeanor convictions within one year of application. A standard background check will be completed.
