Atlanta Fire Awarded 10K Grant

The grant will help the department provide car seats for families in need around the metro area.

The philanthropic arm of Amerigroup, the Amerigroup Foundation, awarded The Atlanta Fire Foundation a $10,000 fire education grant focused on child safety.

The grant will help the department provide car seats for families in need around the metro area. 

“We hope this grant will have a significant and meaningful impact for Atlanta Fire Rescue and the children in our community,” said Dr. Tunde Sotunde, Chief Executive Officer for Amerigroup Community Care of Georgia.

“We are proud to recognize and reward Atlanta Fire Rescue as hardworking organization that takes great risks to ensure members of the community are safe and well protected.”

Effective fire safety education for the children of Atlanta is an ongoing priority of the Atlanta Fire Department, Chief William Rhodes, VP of Operations for the Foundation, said.
