The DeKalb County Police Department and the Emory University Police Department have released new pictures of two vehicles of interest possibly related to sexual assaults that occurred near the campus this winter.
Three attempted sexual assault cases that occurred off campus in DeKalb County are possibly connected to a rape that occurred on Emory University’s campus on Feb. 11. The DeKalb County authorities say the incidents occurred between December 2013 and January 2014.
Detectives say the
assailant was described as a man in his mid-to-late 50s, about 5 feet, 10
inches tall, with a reddish or brown beard. He was wearing a brown knit cap, a
tan or brown jacket, dark blue jeans and brown boots, reports WSB
One of the vehicles in question is an older model, dark colored, two-door pickup truck that has a diamond toolbox in the rear. The second vehicle being sought is described as a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee which may have been in the area.
Anyone with any information regarding either of these vehicles is asked to contact either the DeKalb County Department Special Victims Unit at 770-724-7710 or the Emory Police Department at 404-727-8005.
Patch earlier reported the victims were young females, walking alone in the Emory vicinity off campus when the suspect approached and attempted to overpower them. The victims were able to fight off the suspect and alert police. The victims were not physically injured.
