Theft From Auto

2000 block of Lavista Walk NE 8/18/2011 (20:3-20:52) Thur Eve; Parking lot

2011 Nissan Altima; Victim lives on Lavista Rd in Atlanta

Someone broke out front passenger side window and stole listed property. Victim's advised they saw a B/M walking at a fast pace from the parking garage with something under his arm. They stated they did not pay him attention until they noticed the damage to the vehicle. The B/M left location in a silver sedan.

2000 block of Manchester St. NE 8/13 (23:20) 8/14 (01:26) Unk Morn; Street

2009 Chevy Malibu; Victim lives on Mission Ridge Rd in Atlanta

Someone broke out front passenger side windows of vehicle and stole listed property.

Taken: GPS, I-pod 

Auto Theft

2100 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE 8/13 (18:00) 8/15 (07:30) Unk; Parking garage

2004 Suzuki Motorcycle, GA Tag# YC78EG; Victim lives in Roswell, Georgia

Victim advised he parked his motorcycle in the parking garage at location and when he returned it was gone. The motorcycle was placed on the system as stolen.

Commercial Burglary

2300 block Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE 8/15/2011 (03:57) Mon Morn; Business - Crimpers Hair Salon

Police were dispatched to location on an alarm call. Upon arrival the front door glass was found broken out by a large rock. Victim responded and advised listed property had been stolen. No cameras at location, but a neighboring business's cameras may have captured incident.

Taken: Flat screen TV, cable box

2100 block of Monroe Dr. NE 8/13 (21:00) 8/15 (12:00) Unk; Business - Public Storage

Suspects removed the locks from two storage units at location and stole listed property. Suspects were caught on video surveillance.

Taken: 5 guitars, black and white designer bag

Suspects: W/M, W/F

2000 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE 8/17/2011 (19:45-20:00) Wed Eve; Business - Not stated

Police responded to an alarm call at location. Upon arrival they noticed the glass to the front door broken out with a large rock. Key holder responded and found listed property was stolen. Video shows suspect breaking the glass with a rock and removing listed property. One item was recovered near the dumpster at location.

Taken: 2 vacuums (1 recovered)

Suspect: W/M, slim, gray t-shirt, light blue jeans, dark shoes

2100 block of Monroe Dr. NE 8/16 (16:00) 8/17 (11:45) Unk; Business - Public Storage

Someone entered victim's storage unit and stole listed property. The lock to victim's unit had already been replaced prior to police arrival. Management advised that 9 units had been burglarized between 8/12-8/17. No forced entry was located to the business itself. Customers enter location with a code. Surveillance captured suspect on video.

Other Larceny

2300 block of  Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE 8/18/2011 (10:45) Thur Day; Publix/Shoplifting

Arrestee took listed property and attempted to leave without paying.

Taken: $143 worth of items

Arrestee: B/M, 41 YOA, lives on Decatur St. in Atlanta

2400 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE 8/19 (18:30) 8/20 (14:00) Unk; Sidewalk; Tao Tao Scooter

Victim advised he parked his rental scooter at location and when he returned it was gone.

1500 block of Piedmont Ave. NE 8/15/2011 (13:30) Mon Day; Radio Shack/Shoplifting

Employee advised someone stole listed property from location. She stated at one point 5 B/M's were inside location together and seemed to be trying to distract other employees. No one saw these males take anything. Video is available at the store, but no one was able to access them while police were on scene.

2300 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE 8/19/2011 (16:20) Fri Eve; CVS/Shoplifting

Arrestee ran into the street and was almost hit by police. Arrestee attempted to run from police, but was unsuccessful. Witness called into 911 and stated they saw arrestee throw something in the bushes where he was detained. Police located a small container of cashews and arrestee admitted he had just stolen from location.

Arrestee: W/M, 46 YOA, lives on Peachwood Cir in Atlanta

Morningside Security Alert:

A Home on N. Morningside was robbed Aug. 27, in broad daylight.  The owners were not at home.  A witness stated that a black SUV backed into the driveway.  The owners discovered that all the electronics stolen from the home and called the Atlanta Police Department. Be a nosey neighbor!!  If it doesn't look right or questionable, call 911.
