Lindridge/Martin Manor Weekly Crime Report

The following crime report was sent electronically to all Lindridge/Martin Manor residents on Sunday, Sept. 25.

LMMNA CRIME REPORT WEEK 36 and 37, 2011

Aggravated Assault

2200 block of Lenox Rd NE; Sept. 7; 01:02 a.m

Victim advised she got into an altercation with arrestee (boyfriend) and he threw a basket at her, striking her in the head. She stated arrestee also threw other items at her, including a fan. Arrestee admitted to throwing a basket at victim and grabbing her by the shirt. Victim had a large bump on the side of her forehead and scratches on her neck.

1100 block of Woodland Ave NE; Sept. 9; 10:14 p.m.

Victim 1 advised suspect (husband) became upset because she told him to stop drinking. Victim 1 stated he grabbed a knife and lunged at her as she tried to leave out the back door. Victim 1 stated suspect began to punch and kick her when he realized she was calling the police. Suspect fled in listed vehicle and struck other vehicles as he attempted to flee. Victim 2 was the owner of one of the vehicles suspect struck and as she attempted to get his insurance information he almost ran her over. EMS responded to the scene, but both victims refused transport.

1400 block of Woodland Ave. SE; Sept. 4; 10:40 p.m.

Victim advised he heard noises downstairs and then heard tapping on the back door. Victim stated he went outside and noticed suspect standing in the driveway. Victim said the suspect threw something at him, produced a handgun, screamed and took a few steps towards him. Victim ran away from the house and informed 911, which he already had on the line. Victim did not see suspect enter or exit the residence and nothing was missing from the residence.

Commercial Burglary

2400 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE; Sept. 4, 11:00 a.m.; Sept. 5, 1:00 p.m.

Business - Extra Space Storage

Victim advised he was last at location on 9/4/2011 and secured his unit with a lock. On 9/5/2011, he was contacted by the storage facility that there was no lock on his storage unit. Victim stated listed property was stolen. Employee at location advised she would review the video surveillance and contact police if anyone was seen.

Taken: Bicycle, modem, blood pressure machine, cell phone

2100 block of Monroe Dr. NE; Sept. 6 between 12 and 2 p.m.

Business - Public Storage

Incident reported on 9/14/2011. Victim advised she was contacted by management on 9/6/2011 and told that the lock had been cut off her storage unit. Management was unable to check the video when police were on scene. Victim reported listed property stolen.

700 block of Wylie St. SE; Sept. 17 around 8:45 a.m.

Business - 97 Estoria

Passerby called police stating a window had been broken out at location. Upon arrival police noticed a side window to the business shattered. Owner responded and advised bottles of alcohol may have been taken, but he would have to do an inventory first.

Auto Theft

 2000 block of Wellbourne Dr. NE; Sept. 4 between 2 and 3:41 a.m.

2001 Ford Expedition, GA Tag# WL9120

Victim lives in Stone Mountain, GA

Victim advised she parked the vehicle at location and when she returned it was gone. Victim stated the keys were left inside the vehicle, but the doors were locked. Vehicle placed on system as stolen.

2000 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE; Parking lot; Sept. 4 between 2 and 5 a.m.

1998 Pontiac Grand Prix, GA Tag# AFN3105

Victim lives in Tucker, GA

Victim advised he parked his vehicle at location and when he returned it was gone. Vehicle placed on system as stolen.

2400 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE; Parking garage; Sept. 1, 4:30 p.m.; Sept. 6, 9:30 p.m.

1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass, GA Tag# AUR2214

Victim lives in Athens, GA

Victim advised she parked her vehicle at location and when she returned it was gone. Cameras are available at location, but management advised they did not show the vehicle being taken. Vehicle placed on system as stolen.

1700 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd NE, parking lot; Sept. 17 between 1 and 4 a.m.

1998 For Explorer, GA Tag# AVI4575

Victim lives on Main St in Atlanta

Victim advised he parked his vehicle at location for 30 minutes and when he returned it was gone. Victim got a ride home before calling police. Victim stated he left the keys in the vehicle along with his wallet and cell phone. Police called location (Inserection) and asked the employee about the victim. Employee stated victim was incoherent and appeared under the influence when he came in. Employee advised victim was with another individual and that person took his vehicle. Cameras are at location. Vehicle placed on system as stolen.

1100 block of Lenox Cir. NE; Sept. 16 around 11 p.m.; Sept. 17 around 10 a.m.

1994 Honda Accord, GA Tag# 187MDM

Victim lives at location

Victim advised someone stole his vehicle from location. He stated no one had permission to drive his vehicle. Vehicle placed on system as stolen.  

Theft From Auto

1800 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE; Parking lot; Sept. 7 between 8 and 9:23 p.m.

2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Someone broke out passenger side window and stole listed property.

Taken: Black bag w/ clothes, medication

1900 Manchester St. NE; Sept. 4 between 1:50 and 3:08 a.m.

Chevy Malibu

Someone broke out front passenger side window and rummaged through the vehicle. Neighboring business might have cameras that capture incident. Nothing was taken.

2100 block of Faulkner Rd NE; Sept. 4 between 1:45 and 03:30 a.m.

Victim lives in Deridder, GA

2004 Ford Escape

Someone broke out passenger side window and stole listed property. Victim stated a green SUV was parked at location with 2 occupants when he parked his vehicle. He stated he could only see the passenger, which was a B/M. Victim left the keys to the vehicle in the center console and they were they only items taken.

Other Larceny

1900 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE; Sept. 3 around 11 p.m.; Sept. 4 around 1 p.m.

Nino's Restaurant

Employee advised someone stole listed property from the open deck of location. A ceiling fan was also damaged. No cameras at location.

Taken: Stone work

2100 block of Monroe Dr. NE; Sept. 8 around 9:20 a.m.

Chevron/Shoplifting

Suspect took listed property and ran from location without paying. Incident caught on video. Employee advised he ran to 1944 Piedmont Cir NE (In-town Suites)

Taken: Beer

2200 block of Cheshire Bridge Rd. NE; Sept. 13 between 7 and 9 a.m.

Waffle House

Arrestee consumed $4.76 worth of product at location and did not have the money to pay. Employees stated arrestee is a constant problem and wanted to press charges. Arrestee was not on scene when police arrived, but was found a couple hours later nearby refusing to leave another location.
